Schmale Named Honorable Mention All-Summit

OMAHA, Neb. -- Sophomore middle blocker Megan Schmale has earned All-Summit honorable mention recognition, the Summit League office announced Thursday night.
Schmale, a native of Murdock, Neb., becomes the first Maverick to earn a place on the All-Summit teams. She averaged 1.16 blocks and 2.02 kills per set this season, with her blocking average ranking among the top 100 nationally. Schmale led the conference in blocks per set, block assists and total blocks, and her .295 attack percentage ranked fifth among league hitters.
Omaha completed the 2013 season last week, its third as a reclassifying Division I institution and its second as a member of the Summit League. As part of their reclassification process, the Mavericks are not eligible for postseason play until 2015-16.
