Rounds 1-2 Results
ELK GROVE, Calif. - The Omaha men's golf team began the spring half of the season at the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday.
The Mavericks were in 14th place after the first two rounds with a team score of 608. UC Santa Barbara leads with a score of 572 followed by Cal State Fullerton and Chico State who are tied for second at 574.
Alex Overfelt led the Mavs on day one with an even-par round of 72 in round one and a second round score of 76 for a total of 148. That put him in a tie for 31st in the 75-player field. Alex Holtan was second for UNO and in a tie for 45th overall with a two-round score of 150.
Michael Shukis was third for the Mavs with rounds of 76 and 78, putting him at 154, good for a tie for 61. Karl Krieser shot a two-round score of 156, putting him in a tie for 67th. Mitch Ryan concluded the scoring with a 36-hole score of 161.
The final round of play from the Valley Hi Country Club begins at 10:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
