One Week to Go, Mavs Drop in Polls

USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll
OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha hockey team enters the final week of the season ranked 16th in the latest Division I poll from the website USCHO.com.
The ranking puts the Mavericks down three spots from their position last week. UNO also fell out of the top 15 ranking put out by USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine, although they are still receiving votes in that poll.
Quinnipiac, Minnesota and Miami are ranked 1-2-3 in both polls for the third straight week. New Hampshire and North Dakota move up one spot each to fourth and fifth, respectively, in both polls while Boston College dropped to sixth. The other WCHA teams ranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll include St. Cloud State (8), Minnesota State (10), Denver (11) and Wisconsin (14). Those four teams are ranked in the same spots in the USCHO.com poll except Denver with is 12th in that poll's top 20.
The Mavericks finish the regular season on the road at Minnesota Duluth for games on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9. Each game starts at 7:07 p.m. UNO swept a two-game series from UMD at home in November, winning 3-2 and 6-3.
Overall, the Mavericks are 18-14-2 this season and 14-10-2 in the WCHA, good for sixth place.
