NCHC Releases First Preseason Media Poll

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Omaha hockey team is picked to finish eighth in the first preseason media poll released by the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
The Mavericks received 41 points in the voting of 16 media members covering the eight schools. The Mavs are separated from sixth-place Minnesota Duluth by two points and from seventh-place Colorado College by one point.
Miami took the top spot, earning seven first-place votes and 115 points. North Dakota is second with five first-place votes and 109 points, followed by St. Cloud State in third with four first-place votes and 99 points.
Denver is in fourth with 66 points, and Western Michigan came in fifth with 61 points.
The release of the preseason poll officially kicks off the NcHC's first annual media day at the Target Center in Minneapolis, the home of the NCHC final four tournament in March.
