Maverick Women Earn Fourth at SIUE

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Omaha women's golf team took fourth place in the SIUE Intercollegiate which finished on Tuesday.
The Mavericks posted a 36-hole team score of 650 following a round of 326 today. Valparaiso won the tournament with a score of 639. Lipscomb was second at 642, boasting individual medalist Sami Khan who shot 154. Host SIUE was third at 647. In all, 10 teams competed in the event.
Sophie Peters was UNO's leading scorer at 159 following a round of 80 today at the Sunset Hills Country Club. She finished in a tie for sixth overall.
Sarah Pravecek shot another round of 80 on Tuesday to finish second for the Mavs at 160, good for eighth overall. She was one stroke ahead of teammate Katie Kesti who also shot 80 in the second round to finish at 161, putting her in a tie for ninth.
Makenna Kroeker carded an 86 on Tuesday for a two-round score of 172, tying her with teammate Gentry Carveth who fired an 88 in the final round. They were tied for 36th in the 60-player event.
Kat Slump, playing as an individual, shot 98 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 197.
The Mavericks return to action next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 30 – Oct. 1 at the Kangaroo Invitational at Kansas City.
