Mavericks Advance in One College Hockey Poll

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team moved up and held its position in the two weekly college hockey polls released on Monday.
The Mavericks moved up two spots to 11th in the latest top 20 poll put out by USCHO.com. They remain 13th in the most recent top 15 poll from USA Today/USA Hockey. The Mavericks are coming off a 3-2 loss and 4-1 win against Minnesota Duluth last weekend at home.
The Mavericks haven't been ranked as high as 11th since late December of 2012 when they were 12th.
Again this week, the National Collegiate Hockey Conference has six teams in the USCHO.com poll, the most of any conference. In addition to the Mavericks, North Dakota (2), Miami (5), Minnesota Duluth (8), Denver (10) and St. Cloud State (16) are all ranked. Five of those teams also appear in the USA Today/USA Hockey poll with St. Cloud State also receiving votes.
The Mavericks will play at No. 2 North Dakota on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 28-29 and then travel to No. 5 Miami on Dec. 5-6 before returning home to host No. 16 St. Cloud State on Dec. 12-13. Both games at North Dakota can be seen at NCHC.tv and heard on 1180 Zone 2. Saturday's game will be carried on TV by Fox College Sports.
