
Brady Named NCHC Defenseman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Omaha freshman Ian Brady was named the Bauer NCHC Defenseman of the Week on Monday.
Brady returned from two weeks on the injured list to register four points, all assists, in Omaha's split at Minnesota Duluth last weekend. On Friday, he assisted on both powerplay goals as the Mavericks dropped an 8-2 decision.
On Saturday, he assisted on Omaha's first two goals, including the game-winner, in a 4-1 win that clinched third place in the NCHC. He also blocked two shots.
The four-point weekend moved him into a four-way tie for sixth in scoring by NCHC defensemen with 20 points and put him in a tie for seventh in freshman scoring for all games played.
The Mavericks have been recognized with 11 player of the week awards this season with Brady the seventh player so honored.
The Mavericks begin the NCHC Playoffs this week when they host Denver on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, if necessary, March 13-15 at CenturyLink Center. Thursday and Friday's game begin at 7:37 p.m. while the Saturday game will be played at 7:07 p.m.
