Happy Spring Break!
Can you believe it's late March already? Time just flies when you're having fun!
It's been a while since I last posted; I had a lot of school stuff to get done before we went on spring break. Now that it is spring break, I still find myself trying to catch up with some of the work I've missed from our early season travels…It just never ends it seems!
We're in the middle of the lighter part of the schedule – we were supposed to play earlier this week on national television at Kansas State, but thanks to some beautiful spring weather (sarcasm) in Manhattan, the game got cancelled. With the cancellation of that game, that means we last played on March 20 against Dartmouth. A 10-day layoff in the middle of the season probably isn't the best thing for us, but we've made the most of it and done our best to get geared up for conference play, which starts this weekend.
We open Summit League play on Sunday at Boys Town against South Dakota State. SDSU is coming off a banner year for their program; the Jackrabbits won the Summit League Tournament to secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. In the Eugene Regional, SDSU was one out away from upsetting Oregon on their home turf. And in their second game against San Francisco, they lost an intense game in 13 innings, ending their season.
Sunday's forecast is shaping up to be glorious, so get yourselves to church early and then bring the family out to the ballpark at Noon for some Summit League action.
