Registration is now available for the 2014 UNO Maverick Women's Basketball Summer Camp! There are three options to sign up for depending on your athlete's grade level. Please visit abcsportscamps.com/omaha to sign up online, or fill out the registration form on the attached brochure and follow the mailing instructions. We hope to see your athlete this summer! CAMP DESCRIPTIONS
Skill Development Camp I (Entering 1st - 5th grades)
Dates: Monday, June 2 - Wednesday, June 4
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $135 per person (space is limited)
This three-day camp provides young basketball players on-court instruction and insight to the fundamentals of basketball. Emphasis will be placed on developing essential skills, including offensive and defensive basics, shooting, ball handling, passing, proper exercising mechanics and more. Campers will walk away with a better understanding of basketball, teamwork and work ethic. The goal of the camp is to promote knowledge of basketball skills and to ensure a fun, positive experience for all participants.
Elite Camp (Entering 9th - 12th grades)
Dates: Thursday, June 5 - Friday, June 6
Time: Thursday - 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday - 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cost: $135 per person (space is limited)
For the athletes and players looking to take their game to the next level such as AAU, varsity or the collegiate level. High intensity offensive and defensive drills and competition will take place, as well as the refining of overall skills. Players will receive specific instruction regarding the development of post and guard play, as well as applying their skills during 5-on-5 competition. Lunch and dinner will be included.
Skill Development Camp II (Entering 6th - 8th grades)
Dates: Monday, June 9 - Wednesday, June 11
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $135 per person (space is limited)
This three-day camp is designed for those players looking to improve and develop their overall skills and knowledge of basketball. Campers will be challenged physically and mentally through skill and position development, as well as through competitive opportunities and play. The camp is geared toward those seeking opportunities to take their game to a higher level by learning the fundamentals of the game through footwork, shooting, passing, ball handling, rebounding and game concepts.
CAMP INFORMATION
Camp Benefits: Each camper will receive a Maverick women's basketball camp t-shirt and basketball.
Facilities: All camp instruction and play will take place at the Sapp Fieldhouse, located on the South end of the main UNO campus.
Health Care/Physicals: All campers must carry their own health insurance. The University of Nebraska Omaha cannot be held responsible for injuries sustained at camp. A 1st Responder will be available on site for all camp sessions. Please notify camp staff and/or an athletic trainer in advance of any health conditions or needs. Each participant must have completed a recent school physical and must present a medical release form with a parent/guardian's signature.
Camp Attire: All campers should wear appropriate basketball training gear and shoes. Basketballs will be provided.
Lunch: Skill Development campers may bring their lunch or take advantage of our Pizza Special, as we will be selling pizza during the lunch break. Please ensure that each lunch is clearly labeled with the camper's first and last name, and let us know if it needs to be refrigerated. Elite campers will be provided dinner and lunch.
