
Spenner Leads Mavericks at Emporia State

Emporia, Kan. - Sami Spenner finished first in the 100 meter hurdles and shot put to lead the Omaha track and field team multi-event athletes at the Emporia State Combined Multis on Thursday night.
Both of the sprints were wind aided, so no marks count towards school records or personal bests.
Spenner posted marks of 14.46 in the 100 meter hurdles and 39' 1 1/4" in the shot put to lead the 22-athlete field before not posting a score in the 200 meters.
Amanda Alexander and Macy Woitzel also competed with Woitzel setting a new PR in the shot put (32' 9 3/4").Woitzel also set a new PR in the high jump with a jump of 4' 8 1/4" while Alexander finished with a jump of 4' 9 1/2".
The Maverick multi-event athletes will compete in the remainder of the events tomorrow morning before meeting up with the rest of the track team in Wichita, Kan. for the KT Woodman Classic. Action in Emporia will get under way at 10 a.m. while the KT Woodman Classic will get underway starting at 5 p.m.
