The Omaha softball team begins a six-game home stretch, its last of the season, with a non-league doubleheader against North Dakota at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Westside Field at Westbrook. Live stats will be available at OMavs.com.
The Mavericks
• Amber Lutmer leads the Summit League with 14 home runs and has a team-high 38 RBI along with a .345 batting average. She is the school-record holder for career homers (48) and is 22 RBI away from tying the career school mark of 167. Lutmer's 48 career homers rank seventh among active Division I players.
• The top three home run hitters in the Summit League are all Mavericks. In addition to Lutmer's 14 homers, Campbell Ditto has 10 and Allie Mathewson has eight. The Mavs lead the league with 43 home runs this season, tied for seventh-most in school history. The most home runs in a season was 65 by the 2010 team. The 2003 team hit 54, and the 2002 team ranks third with 47.
• Mathewson hits a team-best .356 to go with her eight homers, 35 runs and 22 RBI. She has 10 doubles and two triples for a team-high 20 extra-base hits. Mathewson's career .691 slugging percentage entering the week ranks 32nd among active DI players. Sydney Hames is hitting .319 with one homer, nine doubles and 26 RBI. Ditto hits .298 with 10 homers, 32 RBI and 34 runs.
• Dana Elsasser is 21-7 this season with a 2.07 ERA. Elsasser has eight shutouts and an opponent batting average of .204 this season. Elsasser's career 1.44 ERA entering this week ranks fourth among active DI players and her 65 wins rank 25th. Elsasser's 32 career shutouts are tied for seventh-most among active DI players.
• Lizzie Noble had a breakout week last week. She entered the week hitting .239 on the season and was in a 2-for-26 slump in her previous 10 games, but the true freshman broke out of it in a big way. Noble hit .529 (9-of-17) on the week with two home runs, one triple, one double, 13 RBI and five runs scored. She provided a two-run double at Iowa State to spark the Mavs and followed it up with a huge weekend at SDSU. In the series finale, Noble was 4-for-5 with three runs and six RBI, falling a double short of the cycle.
Scouting North Dakota
North Dakota is 4-31 overall and 2-6 in the Big Sky. UND has lost eight in a row and has yet to play a single home game this season. North Dakota hits .249 as a team with Emily Bell leading the way at .354 with one homer and 15 RBI. Caralyn Chewning hits .320 with one homer and 12 RBI, and Amanda Johnson hits .320 with three homers and eight RBI. Kayli Van Domelen and Megan Hedstrom are the two likely UND pitchers. Van Domelen is 3-14 with an 8.61 ERA, and Hedstrom is 1-11 with a 9.15 ERA.
Series History
UNO owns a 46-4 lead in the all-time series. Last year's series was canceled because of inclement weather. The teams played six games in 2012 and split 3-3.

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Lizzie Noble was 4-for-5 with six RBI and came up a double shy of the cycle, pacing the Omaha softball team to a 12-4 win over South Dakota State on Saturday. With the win, the Mavericks swept their first Summit League series of the season and improved to 26-15 overall and 7-5 in league play. The Jackrabbits dropped to 7-29 overall and 2-13 in the league. Noble, a true freshman, capped an impressive weekend in Brookings with a two-run triple in the first, a two-run homer in the fourth and a two-run single in the fifth. In the three-game series, she was 8-for-13 (.615) with 11 RBI, five runs, two homers, one triple and five singles. But the Mavericks got plenty of production up and down the lineup, as UNO matched its season high with 15 hits. Allie Mathewson was 2-for-5 with a run, Amber Lutmer was 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs, and Campbell Ditto was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs. Tonya Peterson was 1-for-5 with a two-run single, Mara Eeman was 2-for-3 with a run, and Lia Mancuso and Sydney Hames each had hits. Bailey Schulenberg came off the bench to deliver a pinch-hit two-run double in the seventh for the final two runs of the game. Omaha led 2-0 after the top of the first on Noble's triple, but the Jacks cut it to 2-1 in the first on a balk by Dana Elsasser. The Mavs' senior pitcher threw a complete game to move to 21-7 this season. She allowed four runs on eight hits, two walks and eight strikeouts. UNO used a three-run third inning to go up 5-1. Peterson singled home Noble and Eeman for a 4-1 lead, and Mancuso's grounder to third scored Peterson. But SDSU came back with three runs of its own in the bottom half to make it 5-4. Elsasser shut the door after that, giving up no hits in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth gave UNO plenty of separation with a 10-4 lead. Ditto's RBI double to score Megan Stegman, followed by Noble's homer made it 8-4. Noble delivered a single in the fifth to score Mathewson and Lutmer for the 10-4 margin, before Schulenberg put the icing on the cake with her second RBI pinch-hit of the series.
