Noble Earns Summit League Honor With Breakout Week

OMAHA, Neb. - Freshman Lizzie Noble was named Summit League Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. It's the first career weekly award for the Bennington native.
Noble had a breakout week to lift the Mavericks to a 4-0 record, hitting .529 (9-of-17) with two home runs, one triple, one double, 13 RBI and five runs scored.
In the Mavs' 3-2 win at Iowa State on Wednesday, Noble was 1-for-4 with a two-run double in the first inning to set the tone. She exploded over the weekend in a sweep of South Dakota State, hitting .615 (8-of-13) with two homers, a triple and 11 RBI and at least two hits in every game. In the 6-0 win in game one, Noble was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles, a run scored and an RBI. In an 11-2 win in game two, Noble went 2-for-4 again with a run and four RBI, smacking a three-run home run in the first inning. In the series finale on Saturday, Noble had her best game yet, going 4-for-5 with three runs and six RBI, falling a double short of the cycle. Her two-run triple in the first inning marked the third time in four games on the week that she batted in runs in the first inning, and in all she produced seven RBI in the first innings last week. The designated player added a two-run homer in the fourth inning, her fifth of the year, to give the Mavs an 8-4 lead, which they went on to extend for the 12-4 win.
Noble entered the week with a .239 batting average, three home runs and 17 RBI and was in a 2-for-26 slump in her previous 10 games. But she raised her season totals to .284, five homers and 30 RBI following her standout performance.
