Ryan, Krieser Pace Mavs at Summit Championship

KELLER, Texas – Karl Krieser and Mitch Ryan shot opening rounds of 75 to lead the Omaha men's golf team on the first day of the Summit League Championship on Monday.
Both players are at three over par for the first 18 holes at the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club to put the Mavericks in seventh place with a score of 309. League newcomer Denver is in first at 292 followed by IUPUI at 296. North Dakota State is third at 301.
Krieser got off to a fast start. Beginning his round on the 10th hole, he birdied three of the first four holes before carding a double-bogey on the par-three 14th hole. He bounced back with a birdie on the par-five 15th hole and finished the back side with 35 before closing with 40 on the front.
Ryan had three birdies in his round, all on par fives. He shot 36 on the back and 39 on the front.
Alex Overfelt was third for the Mavericks and tied for 23rd overall after shooting 78. Taylor Sidzyik carded an 81 to sit in a tie for 34th. Alex Holtan shot 85 and is currently in 39th.
The second round begins at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday with the men beginning from the first tee.
