
Krieser, Kesti Named Summit Academic All-League

Krieser, a junior majoring in bioinformatics, carries a 3.78 grade point average. He was a member of the All-Summit Second Team this season, the first Maverick to earn league honors. He led the Mavs' in scoring with a stroke average of 76 and shot a career-low round of 70 at the UNO Maverick Collegiate Invitational in October. He was UNO's top finisher in the Summit League Championship last month, coming in 10th for his team-leading fourth top-10 finish of the year.
The other members of the men's team were IUPUI's Jose Pablo Segurola and Rob van de Vin, Fort Wayne's Jacob Groninger and Denver's Ole Ramsnes.
Kesti, a sophomore majoring in neuroscience, has a 3.97 GPA. She led the Mavericks in scoring this past season with a stroke average of 80.1. She shot a career-low round of 70 at the Bellevue Shootout in October and a career-best 54-hole score of 229 at the Kansas City Shootout in April. She also was UNO's top finisher at the Summit League Championship last month. She had two top-five finishes last season to lead the team.
Kesti was one of six golfers on the women's team. Fort Wayne's Brenna Sherwood and Ashton Taft, South Dakota's Janice Baumberger, Denver's Tonje Daffinrud North Dakota State's Sarah Storandt also made the team.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions. The men's and women's golf academic all-league teams are made up of the five student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
