Omaha Drops Dual at Denver, 116-68

DENVER, Colo. -- The Omaha swimming & diving team fell to preseason conference favorite Denver, 116-68, Saturday night at El Pomar Natatorium.
The Mavericks were led by a pair of divers, as both senior Miranda Knipfer and freshman Annika Clinton notched points for the evening. Knipfer took the top spot in the 1-meter event, finishing with a three-dive total of 221.65. Clinton finished third in the event, registering a total of 207.40. The Minnetonka, Minn., native also had success in the 3-meter event, placing second with a score of 209.40.
The Mavericks also won the 200 free relay, with sophomore Olivia McLain, sophomore Cassandra Jahn and freshmen Kylie Vermeire and Kirsten Kracke teaming up for a time of 1:42.78.
Senior Natalie Renshaw had a pair of top-three finishes. The Millard North product took the title in the 100 free, touching the wall at 52.15, and also placed third in the 200 free (1:56.04).
Additionally, McLain finished in the third spot in the 100 fly, touching the wall at 59.60.
Omaha continues its Colorado road trip Monday night in Greeley, Colo., visiting Northern Colorado. The meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m. (CT) from Butler-Hancock Pool.
