
Mavericks 11th in Latest College Hockey Poll

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team has been picked 11th in the preseason poll released by USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine.
The Mavericks received 160 points in the voting to finish behind Miami and ahead of Yale. Last week, UNO was picked 10th in the preseason poll released by USCHO.com, switching places with Miami. It was UNO's highest preseason ranking in school history.
As with the USCHO.com poll, Boston College was picked first in this latest poll, receiving 469 points and 18 first-place votes. Boston University was second (436/5) followed by Minnesota Duluth (422/7), North Dakota (373) and Harvard (348).
Five NCHC teams were picked in the top-15 poll. In addition to UMD and UND, Denver was picked sixth (318) followed by Miami (198) and UNO. The USCHO.com poll ranks the top 20 vote getters.
The Mavericks open the 2015-16 season this weekend when they visit No. 6/9 Minnesota State on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10.
