LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha women's golf team is in 12th place after the first day of play at the Chip-N Club Invitational at Nebraska.
The Mavericks carded team scores of 325 and 315 over the first 36 holes at the Country Club of Lincoln for a score of 640. Notre Dame leads with a one-over score of 577 after the first two rounds. Nebraska is second at 593, one stroke ahead of third-place South Dakota State.
Katie Kesti carded back-to-back rounds of 75 to lead the Mavericks with a total of 150, good for a tie for 17th place. She's nine strokes ahead of Megan Vetrovsky who is tied for 45th with rounds of 81 and 78.
Jordan York is third for the Mavericks and tied for 60th after shooting rounds of 84 and 80 for a score of 164. She's just one stroke ahead of teammate Makenna Kroeker who shot 83 and 82.
Mandy Boyle completed the scoring for the Mavericks with scores of 84 and 88 for a total of 172. She's in 72nd place.
The final round begins on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
