Mavericks Eighth in Weekly Hockey Polls

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey is ranked eighth in both weekly college hockey polls released today.

The Mavericks earned 664 points in the voting on the USCHO.com poll, dropping them six spots from their all-time high of No. 2 in each of the last two weeks. They are just two points behind No. 7 Harvard this week.

Omaha earned 284 points in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, dropping them from the top spot in that poll during the last two weeks. They are 13 points behind No. 7 Minnesota Duluth which visits Omaha this weekend.

The Mavericks are one of five NCHC teams in the USA Today poll and one of six in the USCHO.com poll which leads all conferences. North Dakota is No. 1 in both polls while UMD (6/7), St. Cloud State (10/10) and Denver (9/12) are the others. Miami is 19th in the USCHO.com top-20 poll and is receiving votes in the USA Today poll.

The Mavericks host Minnesota Duluth on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7 at Baxter Arena. Both games start at 7:07 p.m. Friday's game will be seen live statewide on NET1.
