Omaha Finishes Fifth in League Championship Meet

Indianapolis, Ind. – The Omaha swimming & diving team closed out the 2014-15 season Saturday night at the Summit League Championships, finishing fifth overall with 393 points.
Junior Natalie Renshaw finished her season strong in the 100 free, setting a school record time of 50.56 in the prelims. The Millard North alum finished fourth overall and clocked in a time of 50.75 in the finals.
Sophomore Morgan Stepp finished third and grabbed a medal in the 200 fly with a time of 2:05.11. The Parker, Colo., native just missed a school record in the prelims finishing with a time of 2:04.13 – just seven tenths of second off of the current record.
The 400 free relay quartet of Renshaw, senior Jenna Foiles, freshman Cassie Jahn and junior Hannah Johnson took third in the event, finishing with a season-best time of 3:28.31.
Senior Morgan Cullison finished 15th in the 1650 free, tying a personal season-best time of 18:09.53.
With the 2014-15 season complete, the Mavericks now look ahead to 2015-16, when the UNO program is fully transitioned to NCAA Division I and eligible for postseason competition at the NCAA Championships.
