Mavericks Are Eighth In Weekly Polls

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team is ranked eighth in both weekly hockey polls, down three spots from the previous week.
The Mavericks drop in the polls comes on the heels of two losses at St. Cloud State last week. The Mavs fell 4-3 and 2-0 and are now 17-10-3 overall and 11-8-1-1 in the NCHC, putting them in a tie with Denver for third place in the conference.
UNO had been ranked in the top five in both the USCHO.com top-20 poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine top-15 poll for four straight weeks prior to this week.
The Mavericks are again one of five NCHC teams ranked in the top 10 of both polls. North Dakota (1), Miami (5), Minnesota Duluth (6) and Denver (7) are the others.
UNO plays its final road games of the regular season when it heads to Minnesota Duluth for games on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28.
