He began the month by scoring a goal and adding two assists to lead all players in Omaha's 5-4 win over No. 10 Denver. He had no points the following night but finished even as the Mavericks' finished the sweep of Denver, 1-0. For his efforts in the series, he was named the NCHC Rookie of the Week.
The following weekend at Colorado College, the native of Grand Rapids, Minn. had a goal in the first game of the series as Omaha lost, 4-3. The next night, he had two goals, including the game winner, and added an assist in a 4-1 win that secured the split.
