Mavericks Steady at No. 4 in Polls

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team is ranked fourth in the country in both national polls for the second straight week. The position is the best in school history.
The Mavericks are again one of five NCHC teams ranked in the USCHO.com top 20 poll and in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine top 15 poll. North Dakota (2/3), Minnesota Duluth (6), Miami (7) and Denver (9) are the others.
The Mavericks were idle last week as was much of the NCHC. Five teams were in action and just two of the four games played were for standings points. The Mavericks currently lead the NCHC but sit just one point ahead of second-place North Dakota and three ahead of third-place Miami. The top five teams in the conference standings are separated by just five points.
This weekend, the Mavericks are back on home ice to host Western Michigan on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14. Friday's game begins at 7:37 p.m. and will air statewide on NET1. Saturday's game starts at 7:07 p.m.
