Four Mavs Named To All-Conference/All-Rookie Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Goaltender Ryan Massa was named NCHC Second Team All-Conference on Wednesday, one of four Mavericks to be named to the conference's post-season teams.
Massa leads the NCHC with a .935 save percentage and is third in the conference with a 2.02 goals against average. This season, he has set a new career high with 12 wins while helping the Mavericks finish in third place in the NCHC with a record of 12-8-4-3.
Forwards Austin Ortega and Jake Guentzel were named Honorable Mention All-NCHC. Ortega and Guentzel are tied for the team scoring lead with 33 point and are tied with two others for sixth in NCHC scoring. Ortega leads the Mavericks in goals with 18 and set the NCAA record with 11 game-winning goals so far this year. Guentzel, a member of the very first NCHC All-Rookie Team, paces the team with 21 assists and is just one point from equaling his career best in points.
Luc Snuggerud is the second Maverick to make the all-rookie team. In 34 games, he's scored two goals and 12 assists for 14 points. He's currently tied with two others for ninth in NCHC freshman scoring and is in a four-way tie for 15th among all NCHC defensemen.
The No. 7/8 Mavericks begin the NCHC Playoffs this weekend when they host St. Cloud State on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, if necessary, March 13-15. Tickets for all three games, the final games to be played by UNO at the CenturyLink Center, are on sale at the CenturyLink Center box office, the Sapp Fieldhouse ticket office and through Ticketmaster.
