Mavericks Drop To Ninth in Weekly Polls

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team fell three spots to ninth in both college hockey polls this week.
The Mavericks had been sixth in the USCHO.com top-20 poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll for seven of the last eight weeks. Omaha lost a pair of home games to Denver last weekend, their first at Baxter Arena.
North Dakota, the Mavericks' opponent this weekend, is No. 1 in the USCHO.com poll while St. Cloud State is fifth, Denver is 14th and Minnesota Duluth is 17th. In the USA Today poll, UND is second while St. Cloud State is also fifth and Denver is again 14th.
The Mavericks take on North Dakota on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16 at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks. Friday's game begins at 7:37 p.m., and Saturday's game starts at 7:07 p.m. Both games can be seen on NCHC.tv with Saturday's game also available on Fox College Sports.
