Mavs Win Grinnell Invite After Dominating Weekend

GRINNELL, Iowa – The Omaha swimming & diving team continued its dominance at the Grinnell Invitational Saturday, winning the team event portion with a combined total of 1192.5 points for the weekend.
Natalie Renshaw sparked the Mavs, earning two individual event victories on the night. The senior finished atop the field in both the 100 breast (1:09.13) and the 200 back – tackling a season-best time of 2:04.77.
The 200 medley relay foursome of Renshaw, juniors Meredith Ricks, Morgan Stepp and freshman Indi Hadford won the evening's first event, posting a time of 1:49.07.
Freshman Kate Fay impressed in the 1650 free, as the McFarland, Wisc., product posted a winning time (18:05.62) that just missed a team-best mark for the event.
The 400 free relay quartet of Renshaw, senior Hannah Johnson, sophomore Cassie Jahn and freshman Kylene Abraham raced to victory in the event (3:34.96).
Senior diver Miranda Knipfer just missed the top spot in the 1-meter (11 dives), as the Omaha native penciled in a total score of 389.45.
Omaha returns to the action next Friday, Jan. 29, in Brookings, S.D. for a dual against conference foe South Dakota State at HPER Center Pool.
