Mavericks Close Fall in 13th at Seton Hall

BEDMINSTER, N.J. – The Omaha women's golf team finished the fall season with a 13th-place finish at the Seton Hall Pirate Invitational.

The Mavericks shot a team score of 341 in round two, a 33-shot improvement from the first round, to finish at 715 for the 36-hole tournament. South Dakota State took home the team title with a score of 632. Lamar was second at 646, and host Seton Hall was third at 658.

Samantha Chong led the Mavericks in scoring and tied for 37th with a two-day score of 173 that included a final round of 84.

Jordan York had the Mavericks' best round of the day, 81, to finish second on the team and in a tie for 40th at 175.

Haley Wineman and Mandy Boyle both closed with scores of 88 on Saturday. That put Wineman at 181 for the tournament, good for a tie for 55th while Boyle was in a tie for 68th at 187.

Sami Langford concluded the scoring for the Mavericks with a 36-hole total of 193 that included a round of 95 on Saturday at the Trump National Golf Course.

The Mavericks will resume play in February.
