
Three Werner Park Games Highlight Mavs' 2016 Slate

OMAHA, Neb. – Tickets for the Omaha baseball team's three premier games at Werner Park are on sale now, head coach Bob Herold announced Friday, along with the Mavericks' full 2016 season schedule.
UNO's Werner Park lineup begins with Nebraska on Wednesday, April 6 at 6:35 p.m. The Mavericks then welcome Kansas State two weeks later on Wednesday, April 20 at 6:35 p.m. and conclude the Werner Park series with Air Force on Tuesday, April 26 at 1 p.m.
Tickets for all three games are now available on OmahaStormChasers.com and are priced at $9 for adults and $5 for students 18 and under. UNO students will receive free admission by presenting their MavCards.
Omaha opens its 2016 season next weekend at the Perfect Game Spring Swing, facing Eastern Michigan for three contests and NJIT for one, Feb. 19-21 in Emerson, Ga. The Mavs then return to Emerson for four more games Feb. 26-28, squaring off with Saint Louis, Morehead State and Arkansas State.
Following a trip to Wichita State (March 1) and a three-game weekend series at Grand Canyon (March 4-6), Omaha ventures to Air Force (March 8-9) for a pair of midweek games. The Mavericks then head back to Georgia to take on Iowa, Presbyterian, Bowling Green and Seton Hall, March 11-13 in Atlanta.
UNO opens the Summit League slate with back-to-back home weekends at the Ballpark at Boys Town, hosting Fort Wayne (March 18-20) and North Dakota State (March 25-27). After a midweek visit to Kansas State (March 29) for a televised game on FOX College Sports, the Mavericks welcome Western Illinois (April 1-3) for another home conference weekend at the Ballpark at Boys Town.
UNO's in-state showdown with Nebraska (April 6) at Werner Park kicks off another challenging stretch, as the Mavs hit the road for seven straight games. A conference series at South Dakota State (April 8-10) starts the away stint, followed by a midweek tilt at Kansas (April 13) and another league weekend at Oral Roberts (April 15-17).
Omaha then returns for a five-game homestand that includes K-State at Werner Park (April 20), a weekend series against South Dakota State (April 22-24) at the Ballpark at Boys Town and the Werner Park finale with Air Force (April 26). The Mavericks return to action the next night to start a 12-game road stretch, stopping first at Iowa (April 27). They follow with three consecutive weekend road trips to league foes Fort Wayne (April 29-30), North Dakota State (May 6-8) and Western Illinois (May 13-15), as well as trips to in-state rivals Nebraska (May 11) and Creighton (May 17) during that span.
UNO closes the regular season with a final weekend of league play at the Ballpark at Boys Town, hosting Oral Roberts (May 19-21). The Mavericks then seek their first appearance at the Summit League Tournament, set for May 25-28 in Tulsa, Okla.
Herold, the winningest coach in program history, enters his 17th season at the helm of the Maverick program and carries with him a career record of 499-353-2. The 2016 season will be Omaha's first with full Division I eligibility for Summit League and NCAA postseason play, and the Mavericks return 18 letterwinners, including five position starters and two starting pitchers.
