PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Omaha women's golf team moved up to 13th place after two rounds of the GCU Women's Spring Invitational on Tuesday.
The Mavericks posted a team score of 329 for a two-round total of 664. South Dakota State, North Dakota State, Wyoming and Portland State are all tied for the tournament lead with scores of 617. Host Grand Canyon is fifth at 618.
Katie Kesti had UNO's low round of the day at 74 to put her in the team lead at 161 for the first 36 holes. It marked a 13-shot improvement over her Monday score and is the lowest round shot by a Maverick this season. She's tied for 43rd.
Megan Vetrovsky is second for the Mavericks and tied for 54th in the field of 83 golfers with a score of 163 that included a second-round card of 84. Mandy Boyle is third on the team and tied for 73rd at 171 after an 86 in round two.
Jordan York sits one stroke behind Boyle at 172. She carded a round of 85 on Tuesday. Makenna Kroeker completed the scoring for the Mavericks with a second round tally of 91, putting her at 175 for the tournament.
The final round begins at 10 a.m. CT on Wednesday.
