
Mavericks Open Play at Morehead State

SORRENTO, Fla. – The Omaha women's golf team is tied for 18th after the first round of the Morehead State Citrus Challenge on Sunday.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 322, tying them with Marshall in the 20-team field. Jacksonville State leads after the first 18 holes at the Red Tail Golf Club with a score of 292. Four more teams – Ball State, Western Kentucky, Elon and Florida Gulf Coast – are tied for second at 294.
Jordan York had UNO's best score on day one with a three-over par card of 75, a career best. She's tied for 28th in the field of 118 golfers.
Megan Vetrovsky was second for the Mavericks and tied for 84th overall with a score of 80. That put her one stroke ahead of teammate Katie Kesti who shot 81 to sit in a tie for 93rd.
Makenna Kroeker shot 86 to put her in a tie for 111th, and Mandy Boyle shot 88 to round out the scoring.
The second round of the three-round event is Monday at 7:30 a.m. CT.
