Mavericks Now 15th in National Rankings

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team is ranked 15th in both weekly college hockey polls released today.
The Mavericks dropped two spots in both the USCHO.com poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll following two losses to North Dakota last week that stretched their losing streak to a season-high four games.
Omaha is 18-13-1 overall and 8-13-1-0/0 in the NCHC, putting it in sixth place. The Mavericks will travel for the first round of the NCHC playoffs as they can rise no higher than fifth in the standings. The top four teams are awarded home ice advantage for the first round.
The Mavericks finish the regular season at Denver on Friday and Saturday, March 4-5.
North Dakota moved up to No. 2 in both polls and is the NCHC's highest-ranked team. St. Cloud State, which lost twice last weekend, dropped to fifth in both polls. Denver is now seventh in both rankings.
