Omaha Track and Field Team Set Six Personal Bests on Day One

LINCOLN, Neb. – Six Mavericks set new personal bests as the Omaha track & field team competed in the first day of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite on Friday.
In the 60 meter preliminaries, junior Nicole Liske and freshman Zarria Nichols both set personal bests, Liske finishing in 8.01 seconds and Nichols in 8.23 seconds.
Sophomore Alexis Allgood and freshman Daylee Olson continued the PR string in the 400 meters. Allgood finished with a time of 1:01.22, and Olson had a time of 1:02.16.
Distance runners got into the personal best parade in the 5,000 meters. Sophomore Rosie Gensichen finished with a time of 18:58.06. Senior Avery Schmidt completed the race with a time of 19:24.05.
The Mavericks are back for day two on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
