Omaha Finishes West Coast Trip on High Note

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Omaha track and field team finished its west coast trip on Saturday competing at the Long Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
Junior Taryn Derickson put together her top performance of the season with a personal best in the high jump. She tied for third with a leap of 5-07 on her a first attempt clearance.
Coming off her first place finish in the high jump at the Clay Invitational on Friday, sophomore Stephanie Ahrens competed in the 100 meter hurdles on Saturday, posting the second-best time of her career at 14.99.
The Maverick 4x400 relay team raced to a season best time of 4:00.92 and a ninth-place finish in the meet. The relay team consisted of junior Alyssa Thavenet, sophomore Alexis Allgood, and freshmen Lauren Houston and Daylee Olson.
Omaha will return to action on April 22-23 for the two-day John Jacobs Invitational in Norman, Okla.
