
Mavericks Announce Hockey Exhibition Opponent

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Athletics announced today that the hockey team will face the University of Alberta in its annual preseason exhibition game.
The game will be played on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:07 p.m. at Baxter Arena. It will be the first meeting of the two schools.
The Mavericks are 17-3-0 all-time against Canadian universities, including last season's 6-0 win over Trinity Western on Jan. 2.
Omaha begins its 20th NCAA season the week following its exhibition game when it travels to Fairbanks, Alaska for the Brice Alaska Goal Rush. The Mavericks will play Alaska Anchorage on Friday, Oct. 14 and then take on host Alaska on Saturday, Oct. 15.
The Mavericks open their home schedule the following weekend when they welcome Vermont on Oct. 21-22.
New season tickets will go on sale to the general public in July with single-game ticket sales slated for mid-August.
