Ditto, Hames, Warren Selected Academic All-League

OMAHA, Neb. ā A trio of Omaha softball players ā seniors Campbell Ditto, Sydney Hames and junior Nicole Warren ā were named to the 2016 Summit League Academic All-League Team, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Omaha and North Dakota State each placed a league-leading three student-athletes on the team, while IUPUI was next with two selections.Ā South Dakota and Western Illinois both placed one student-athlete on the squad.
Ditto and Hames earned First Team All-Summit honors this season and Warren was a Second Team All-Summit choice.
Ditto hit .326 on the year with 10 home runs and 27 RBI.Ā She carries a 3.96 GPA as an exercise science major and she was a First Team Academic All-District VII selection.
Hames was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team with a 3.89 GPA, majoring in elementary education/deaf education.Ā She had a team-best .375 batting average with 15 doubles, 14 home runs, and 55 RBI.
Warren hit .309 on the year with a league-leading 20 home runs and 58 RBI.Ā She carries a 3.65 GPA as a business administration major.
The team was voted upon by member institutions' faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors. A total of nine-student-athletes were named to the team and honored for their academic and athletic performances this season.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's total contests.
