Vetrovsky Leads Mavericks In Second Round at NU

LINCOLN, Neb. – Megan Vetrovsky shot a two-over-par round of 74 to lead the Omaha women's golf team for the second straight day at the Chip-N Club Invitational at Nebraska.
Vetrovsky, who led UNO in scoring in round one by tying her season best with a score of 74, repeated that feat to sit in a five-way tie for 11th overall with a score of 148.
As a team, the Mavericks shot a score of 314 in the second round to sit at 635 for the 54-hole tournament. Kansas State leads after two rounds with a team score of 565. South Dakota State is second at 568, and Florida International is in third at 570.
Starting on the 10th hole, Vetrovsky was two under through the first nine, earning birdies on the 11th and 16th hole. She shot 40 on the inward nine, notching a pair of birdies and a par over the final four holes.
Samantha Chong is second for the Mavericks and in a four way tie for 41st in the field of 65 golfers. She shot 79 in the second round and is at 160 for the tournament.
Jordan York carded an 80 in round two and is sitting in a tie for 51st overall with a two-day score of 163. She's two strokes ahead of teammate Mandy Boyle who shot 82 on Monday to sit at 165, good for a tie for 55th.
Sami Langford fired 81 in round two and has a total of 168, putting her 59th.
The final round begins at 9 a.m. on Tuesday from Wilderness Ridge Golf Course.
