LINCOLN, Neb. – Junior Stephanie Ahrens took fourth place in the high jump on the second day of competition for the Omaha track & field team at the Holiday Inn Invitational at Nebraska.
Ahrens put up a leap of 5-07, tying her with Minnesota State's Khadiya Hollingsworth who won the tiebreaker.
In the triple jump, freshman Nyakuome Thichiot was seventh with a jump of 35-08 ¾, a personal best by more than six inches.
On the track, the distance medley relay team of Alyssa Thavenet, Sydnee Mitchell-Jemison, Lauren Houston and Anita Jenkins took fifth in a time of 12:40.59.
The Mavericks return to action next Saturday, Jan. 21 when they travel to South Dakota State for the Jim Emmerich/Alumni Invitational.
