Smallwood Signs Professional Contract With Manerbio GoodBook

OMAHA, Neb. -- Former Omaha men's basketball player Tim Smallwood has signed a contract to play professionally for Manerbio GoodBook in Manerbio, Italy, it was announced Thursday. Manerbio GoodBook plays in the Serie C Gold league.
Smallwood, a guard from Tulsa, Okla., was a two-year letterwinner in the Omaha program from 2014-16. Over his career, he averaged 5.3 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, including 5.9 points per game as a senior. Smallwood also finished second on the team with 44 3-pointers made in his senior campaign and helped the Mavericks to a postseason appearance with the 2016 College Basketball Invitational (CBI).
"I'm excited to have signed my first professional contract," Smallwood said. "This is a time for me to continue to grow and improve as a player, as I'll be playing in a great city and a great league overseas. I have a lot of support in my corner, both in the United States and in Italy, and I'm looking forward to many more blessings ahead.”
Smallwood will join Manerbio later this week. He graduated with his bachelor's degree in general studies from UNO in May 2016.

"Tim worked hard and was highly instrumental in our team's success over his two years at Omaha, and he is deserving of this next step as he pursues his professional basketball career."
