Omaha Leads Grinnell Invite Standings After Day One

GRINNELL, Iowa -- The Omaha swimming & diving team opened the Grinnell Invitational Friday evening at Russell K. Osgood Natatorium, seizing the lead in the women's team rankings with 821 points after day one of competition. The Mavericks recorded six individual event wins and two relay victories.
Sophomore Isabelle Robuck had a standout effort, leading from start to finish on her way to wins in the 100 back (59.97) and 200 fly (2:11.99) races.
Junior Tiril Jensen also paced the field in the 100 IM (1:00.91) and was part of Omaha's winning 200 free relay team, joining sophomores Kylene Abraham and Kirsten Kracke and freshman Brook Landt for a time of 1:40.36.
Junior Cassandra Jahn tallied an individual win in the 500 free (5:15.71) and teamed with classmates Olivia McLain and Hilary Schieffer and senior Jamie Dhabalt to capture first place in the 400 medley relay (4:05.48).
Junior Sam Starke added another individual race win for the Mavericks, finishing first in the 200 breast (2:31.08). On the diving side, sophomore Annika Clinton led a one-two-three Omaha sweep in the 1-meter event, posting a winning score of 430.25.
Omaha completes its weekend at the Grinnell Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21, with day two action starting at 9 a.m.
