DES MOINES, Iowa -- A second-half surge by Drake quieted the Omaha men's basketball team Saturday night, as the Mavericks fell 93-74 at the Knapp Center.

Leaders for Omaha
Junior Zach Jackson led the Mavericks in scoring for the fifth straight game and achieved his first career double-double on team highs of 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Four other Mavericks joined him in double-figure scoring: senior Daniel Norl (13), sophomores KJ Robinson (11) and JT Gibson (10) and senior Lamar Wofford-Humphrey (10). Wofford-Humphrey pulled down six rebounds, and freshman Matt Pile matched him with six more boards and nine points.

Leaders for Drake
Reed Timmer scored a game-high 27 points with six 3-pointers to pace Drake. Jalen Gibbs chipped in 16 points, and C.J. Rivers and Casey Schlatter added 10 apiece.

Team Stats
Omaha outshot Drake .526 (30-of-57) to .500 (33-of-66) and outrebounded the Bulldogs, 36-26. DU hit 15 threes in the game, dished out 19 assists and committed just five turnovers as a team.

Inside the First Half
Drake led for much of the first half and built a 37-30 advantage with 3:49 until the break. The Mavericks whittled it down to two on a Jackson layup and a Norl three up top, and two buckets from Pile and freshman Ayo Akinwole had Omaha within one, 40-39, by halftime.

Inside the Second Half
After Drake opened the second half on a 7-0 run, Omaha responded with an 8-0 spurt of its own capped by a three-point play from Jackson that tied it at 47-47 with 16:12 left. But Timmer poured it on from there, canning three consecutive 3-pointers en route to 12 straight points, which sparked a 14-2 run. DU outscored Omaha 26-5 over an eight-minute stretch from 15:58 to 7:53, and Timmer finished with 19 points in the second half.

Omaha is now 1-10 on the season, while Drake improves to 5-4.

Noting Tonight's Game
-Drake's win snapped its three-game losing skid, which started Nov. 29 with a 75-73 loss at Omaha.
-Omaha has had at least one double-double in each of the last three games.
