NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – Sophomore Mandy Boyle led the Omaha women's golf team in scoring on the first day of the Summit League Championship.
Boyle shot an opening round score of 80 to pace the Mavericks who sit in eighth place with two rounds remaining at ArborLinks. Boyle is tied for 22nd in the field of 45 golfers.
The Mavericks shot a team score of 323 on day one, just sixth strokes out of fifth. Defending champion Denver leads with a score of 296. South Dakota State is second, one stroke back. IUPUI is third at 312.
Megan Vetrovsky, Samantha Chong and Jordan York all carded identical scores of 81 in the first round to put themselves in a tie for 25th. Sami Langford shot 83 to conclude the scoring for the Mavericks. She's tied for 36th overall.
The second round begins at 8 a.m. on Monday.
