Mavericks Return To Action at SIUE

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team is back from a long layoff to take part in the Derek Dolenc Invitational at SIUE on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 25-26. Â
The 54-hole event will be played at the Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Ill. with 36 holes scheduled for Monday and 18 more on Tuesday. Play begins with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. each day.
The Mavericks haven't played since opening the fall season at their own tournament, the UNO Invitational, at ArborLinks on Sept. 1-2. David Huxham led the Mavericks to a fourth-place finish after finishing in a tie for third overall. He shot a career-best 54-hole score of 217.
Kevin Gordon was second for UNO and tied for 19th overall with a score of 227. He finished two strokes ahead of Bank Chantrakantanond who shot 229, good for 21st overall.
Kelly Brown posted a total score of 237 to tie for 30th overall. Patrick Ravn concluded the scoring with a total of 243. He was in a tie for 34th overall.
Cole Christain, playing as an individual, tied Huxham at 217. Sam Musch, also playing as an individual, had a total score of 232 to put him in a tie for 24th overall.
Following their appearance at SIUE, the Mavericks will be at Drake for the Zach Johnson Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 2-3.
