LINCOLN, Neb. - After a impressive showing during day one of the Graduate Classic at Nebraska, the Omaha track and field team compiled more top ten finishes on day two.
Stephanie Ahrens set a new season best high jump mark of 5 feet 7 inches (1.70 meters) to claim third place.
After a top ten finish in the long jump yesterday, Noni Henderson found herself in the top ten in the triple jump, finishing ninth with a mark of 35 feet 3 inches (10.74 meters).
In the Distance Medley Relay, Omaha entered three teams, all of which finished in the top ten. The "C" relay of Emily Johnson, Alexis Allgood, Karo Garcia and Willa Koenig finished fifth in 12:45.19. The "A" relay of Kayla Sabotin, Lauren Houston, Anita Jenkins and Renata Valquier Chavez took seventh in 12:56.18. Lastly the "B" relay of Rosie Gensichen, Daylee Olson, Annie Catania and Alyssa Averhoff claimed ninth in 13:04.91.
The Mavericks are back in action next Saturday, January 20 at the Jim Emmerich Invitational at South Dakota State. The meet is scheduled to start at noon.
