Omaha To Compete at Jim Emmerich Invitational

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha track and field team will travel to Brookings, S.D. for the Jim Emmerich Invitational hosted by South Dakota State. The meet begins at noon on Saturday.

The Mavericks are coming off a solid round of performances at the Graduate Classic at Nebraska last weekend.

In the 1,000 meter, Lauren Houston claimed second in 3:03.38. While in the 800 meter, Anita Jenkins ran 2:24.05, good for fourth place.

In the field, Anna Edet took third in the weight toss with a mark of 53 feet 6.25 inches (16.31 meters). Stephanie Ahrens leaped 5 feet 7 inches in the high jump, finishing third.

The Distance Medley Relay "C" squad finished fifth in a time of 12:45.19. On the relay were Johnson, Alexis Allgood, Garcia and Willa Koenig.

On Friday, Jan. 26th and Saturday, Jan. 27th, Following the meet at SDSU, the Mavericks will be in Minneapolis, Minn. to compete in the Jack Johnson Invitational hosted by Minnesota on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27.
