Mavericks Head to Jack Johnson Invitational

OMAHA, Neb. - The Omaha track & field team travels to Minneapolis, Minn. for the Jack Johnson Invitational hosted by Minnesota on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27. Action begins at 3 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Mavericks competed last weekend at the Jim Emmerich Invitational at South Dakota State. Several athletes set all-time personal bests or near bests.
Alyssa Averhoff took six seconds off her mile personal best with a new time of 5:20.78. Emily Johnson ran in the mile in 5:28.84, a new personal best by two seconds.
Anna Edet threw the third-longest weight toss mark in her career at 54 feet, 9 inches (16.69 meters).
In the high jump, Cassady Sunderman snagged a top ten finish by clearing 5 feet, 1 inch (1.55 meters).
Sasha Quattlebaum claimed 10th in the triple jump with her best mark of 35 feet, 2 inches (10.74 inches).
After the Jack Johnson Invitational, Omaha will be in Vermillion, S.D. for the Dakota Realty Alumni Meet, hosted by South Dakota on Saturday, Feb. 3.
