Romero Named Offensive Player of the Week

OMAHA, Neb. – Emily Romero captured her first Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honor, the league office announced Monday.
Romero scored both Maverick goals last week as Omaha went 1-0-1. On Thursday, she scored the game-tying goal in the 81st minute against North Dakota. Romero then scored the game-winner in the 64th minute on Sunday against South Dakota.
North Dakota State goalkeeper Monica Polgar garnered Summit League Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
The Mavericks return to action on Friday, Oct. 19, against South Dakota State. Kickoff in Brookings, S.D., is set for 6 p.m.
