Omaha Picked Eighth in Summit League Preseason

OMAHA, Neb. ā The Omaha women's basketball team was voted eighth in the Summit League preseason poll released Wednesday by the league office.
South Dakota State was tabbed the preseason favorite with 24 first-place votes, and South Dakota was picked second with the remaining nine first-place votes.

Western Illinois is third, followed by Oral Roberts, Denver, North Dakota and NDSU. Omaha and Purdue Fort Wayne round out the poll in eighth and ninth, respectively. The Summit League finished 12th out of 32 conferences in RPI last season.
Omaha welcomes Avila in an exhibition game on Sunday, Nov. 4, at Baxter Arena before opening the regular season againstĀ USC Upstate on Friday, Nov. 9.
