Mavericks Begin Spring Season in Georgia

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha men's golf team begins its spring season this weekend at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor hosted by the College of William and Mary. The 54-hole event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17-18, at The Club at Savannah Harbor.
Play begins with a shotgun start at 7:15 a.m. CT each day.
The Mavericks played in five events during the fall season including their own UNO Invitational to begin the year. Their best finish relative to par came at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate in late October when they shot 870 over three rounds (+18 relative to par).
Kevin Gordon led the Mavericks in scoring during the fall with a stroke average of 73.3. He and David Huxham, who is second in scoring at 74.6, each posted two top-10 finishes including one top-five finish. Both players competed in all 15 rounds.
Cole Christian is third in team scoring with an average of 75.1 over nine rounds. Sam Musch is fourth (75.7) and Thirawat Chantrakantanond is fifth (76.7) with both having played 15 rounds.
The Mavericks rank sixth in the Summit League with a team stroke average of 298.3. Gordon ranks fifth individually in scoring average.
Following play in Savannah, the Mavericks will head west for the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, March 5-6.
