Mavericks Wrap Up Day One of SDSU Classic

BROOKINGS, S.D. - The Omaha track and field team completed the first day of the two-day South Dakota State Classic.
Maddy Partridge took seventh in the weight toss with a mark of 46 feet 8 inches (14.24 meters).
Brekk Flax ran a personal best in the 200 meter in 27.02 seconds while Daylee Olson ran a season best time of 27.16 seconds.
In the long jump, Noni Henderson set a new season best in the long jump with a best mark of 16 feet 6 inches (5.05 meters).
Jaycee Schettler set personal bests in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet 7 inches (4.75 meters) and the shot put with a toss of 34 feet 9 inches (10.61 meters).
"We had some pieces fall into place today. We're building confidence each week and that leads to better performances all around," said Head Coach Chris Richardson. "We still have work to do tomorrow and in getting ready for the Summit League Championships, but today was a step in the right direction."
Day two of the SDSU Classic is scheduled to begin tomorrow at noon.
