Mavericks Announce 2018-19 NCHC Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha hockey team, in conjunction with the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, announced its 2018-19 conference schedule on Wednesday.
The Mavericks will play 24 conference games during their sixth season as charter members of the NCHC. They'll begin with a weekend series against Miami on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2-3, at Baxter Arena. Eight of the 24 games are slated for 2018 while the balance of the NCHC schedule will be played in 2019.
Omaha's other home series include Nov. 30-Dec. 1 vs. Colorado College, Jan. 18-19 vs. North Dakota, Feb. 1-2 vs. Western Michigan, Feb. 22-23 vs. St. Cloud State and March 1-2 vs. Denver.
Due to the NCHC's scheduling metric, the Mavericks do not host Minnesota Duluth and will not travel to Colorado College in 2018-19, playing both teams twice each. They will play four games (two home/two road) against all other members.
The Mavericks finished the 2017-18 season with a record of 17-17-2 overall and 10-13-1-0/0 in the NCHC, putting it in fifth place.
The NCHC is coming off another outstanding season. It placed three teams in the NCAA tournament and has now had at least one team in the national playoffs in each year of its existence. Minnesota Duluth won the national championship, giving the NCHC a national champion in each of the last three years.
The Mavericks are still finalizing their non-conference schedule and will announce it at a later date.
