INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Omaha track & field team got into action at two meets in Iowa on Thursday.
UNO's throwers were in action at the Kip Janvrin Open at Simpson College. Anna Edet finished second in the hammer throw with a toss of 161-07. It was her third-farthest throw in the event and it came one week after she set the school record.
Megan Adams threw a lifetime best in the hammer with a throw of 141-01.
At the Drake Relays, junior Lauren Houston finished 11th in the unseeded 800 meter race with a time of 2:11.73. It was her second-fastest time of the season, just two seconds off her PR which she set last week in California.
The Mavericks continue competition at the Janvrin Open on Saturday while Stephanie Ahrens also will compete in the high jump at Drake on Saturday.
